In an effort to help stabilize the national housing downturn, the Senate has passed the long anticipated tax credit for homebuyers. While some of the details are still forthcoming, buyers who purchase a home in 2009 may take up to a 10% tax credit (not deduction) for the value of the home (to a maximum of $15,000).
