Move over Brad Lewis….you have company. San Carlos native Kathryn Bigelow made history last night when she became the first female to win an Oscar in the category of “Best Director” for her film “The Hurt Locker.” She now joins Dana Carvey & Barry Bonds as the most famous native San Carlans.

Did not really know about movie, The Hurt Locker until last night.
I will have to go see it or put it in my Netflix’s cue.
I was very happy Sandra Bullock won Best Actress!
Looking from afar, Sandra appears to be wonderful person with her feet firmly on the ground.
What was also interesting is that several of the winners are non US born and several of them spoke of their desire to come to the US and follow their dream. One related a story of how his mom came here with 4 suitcases to her name. Another spoke of how he sold everything to come here.
