I’m surprised so many seem to want small houses with one-car garages.One of my gripes with the “hot” part of town is that there are so many cars parked on the street that you have to weave in and out of them when a car is coming the other direction. You’d think buyers would prefer houses with room for their cars off the street. I suppose that’s balanced by their ability to walk downtown.

Thanks for your comments. You are right on the money with the south end of Laurel. We need to continue that with the east side of San Carlos as well. We need to greatly increase the tax revenue base. Reaching further, a higher end hotel on the east side would do well, as would expansions to the Park and Rec Department, especially as it relates to adults.

When you said that San Carlos has an “ever-increasing solid reputation,” it reminded me of when I was recently surveryed by phone by the city about what the city government should focus on. With the fire and police situation apparently resolved at least for now, I said that I thought the most important issue was the development of the south end of Laurel to be more viable like the thriving north end, so there is more to do in town and to provide increased tax revenue.

As an expert on the San Carlos marker and its prospective buyers, what would you tell the city council to focus on?

Long time SC resident. Know friends of owner. Was looking forward to opening. Big expectations.
Major disappointment!!!.Food fell way short. Atmosphere no where near potential. Over all, long way
off from meeting “customer satisfaction”. Would not reccomend…….$200.00 for 4; 2 pizza’s, an apptizer (OK), a salad (pears not fresh), hamburger that was under cooked and cold fries; limited and poorly selected wine list.
Hope owner gets the message and can make changes that make it work. Good luck. Unless we hear better
things would not return.

Sad news. Andy is bright, talented and young. He has done a fine job for our community. I think we overlook the pressure being on the City council has on one’s personal life and family. I wish Andy and his wife the best. I am sure they both will thrive, in time, but this must ne a hard time for them.
