Does anyone know the status of the old Bell Market space on Laurel street? I know the city and the residents vetoed the dollar store proposal (thank goodness).
I’m on the same page. A dollar store would have set Laurel back ten years on its development. I think the short answer is that the city has no idea who is moving in there. The longer answer is that they are trying very hard to get an upscale restaurant, brewery or small commercial development that would offer several smaller retail stores. The location of the old Bell Market is one of the absolute best in San Carlos. The city cannot afford to get this one wrong.
