If you have little ones in San Carlos and you work hard to see that they are enriched with all sorts of different activities, you may feel as though you have a second career as a shuttle bus driver. San Carlos has many great offerings through its Parks and Recreation Department. Additionally, many private groups and businesses offer popular activities such as My Gym, Mo Music, Art Safari, Upgrade Reading, and numerous others. Scheduling and costs seem to be the two largest factors facing San Carlos parents who are trying to expose their children to some of the many opportunities available. One SC Blog reader created an impressive power point presentation that I am sure many of you with young kids would find interesting. Please click on the link below to view the presentation. Your comments would be appreciated.

Hi Bob,
Great post by a fellow blog reader. Clearly, he/she has younger kids in San Carlos. I thought the premise and broad ideas were right on target and I agreed with just about everything in the presentation. While I would love to see something similar instituted in San Carlos it seems that this is going to take a lot of leg work. Who would drive this proposal? Is there a way for you to take this before the Parks and Recreation Department?
Stacey (fellow shuttle driver)
Hi Stacey,
Thanks for your post. This is clearly a proposal that is going to need a heavy driving force behind it. However, this is the way most great ideas start in San Carlos. Are you interested in the job? : ) Anyway, I personally know the author of the presentation and she obviously put a considerable amount of time into this idea. I do worry about talk on the council of not replacing Barry Weiss’ position as Park and Recreation Director once he leaves in December. Without the presence of a Parks and Recreation Director, this presentation would most likely be forced to go before the city council, rather than receiving direction solely from the P & R Department.
