A snapshot of the current San Carlos market: Homes are moving at a healthy pace. Homes that are on the best San Carlos streets are moving at a torrid pace.
Each year I take a lighthearted look at what many people consider to be the best San Carlos Streets. Many streets and blocks in San Carlos may be relatively unknown to the rest of San Carlos and those living in those homes probably prefer it that way. However, this is a real estate blog and in real estate, perception matters. In no particular order, the following are my Top 10 Streets/Blocks in San Carlos as perceived by buyers and the general public:
Elizabeth Street
Knoll Drive
Carmelita Drive (1900 Block)
Rosewood Avenue (900 Block)
Elm Street (900 Block)
Eucalyptus Avenue
Sunnydale Avenue
Alma Street
Morse Blvd.
Graceland Avenue
Colton Avenue
Kelton Avenue
Here is your chance to vote for your favorites. Using the poll below, you may vote for up to three of the streets that you believe deserve the title of The Best Street in San Carlos. Don’t see your street below and believe that it should be added? Email me and I will add it. The winning street will receive a blog post dedicated to singing its praises.

Interestingly enough, only two are in the coveted “White Oaks” area of San Carlos.
Just saying…
Actually, I think 3 are in White Oaks: Sunnydale, Kelton, and Colton?
Apparently Morse Blvd. organized a “get out and vote” campaign.
Thanks, Brian. Yes, Morse takes their reputation seriously….although this is all in good fun. We will be re-loading the poll over the weekend, this time limiting the poll to only one vote per IP address.
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks Bob. San Carlos needs more people like you to preclude Morse residents from tarnishing the reputation of San Carlos as “The City Of Good Living.” And while you’re re-tooling the poll, perhaps you can add a bonus question: Which street has the most oversized houses on the tiniest lots? My sense tells me that Morse would prevail.
Brian
Hi Brian,
Thanks for your comments. I want to emphasize that this is a “fun” poll….I can fully understand how Morse logging in 1,500 votes in a hour would rub some people the wrong way. I know many of the families on Morse and they do take a great deal of pride in their street. I’m sure it’s all in good fun.

Bob,
This poll is a great idea. Nothing like a little friendly competition. Looking forward to the retooled version.
Funny, I had no idea where Morse or Kenton were!
Why just limit the vote to these options. We have always really liked both sides of Carmelita and while the 1900 block seems to get the most attention. The east and west sides of Carmelita have a lot of character. I have always thought the the tree in the middle of the street on the west side of Carmelita would be great for a holiday tree lighting event. Not sure why just the 1900 block of Carmelita is on this poll. My vote would be for the entire Carmelita street.
Hi Carmelita,
Thanks for the post. The original list I started out with on the poll was taken from compiled list of favorites over the past three years. I agree with you in that all of Carmelita is a fantastic street. However, many people do make a distinction between the 1900 block and the rest of Carmelita. When we have the new poll out, all of Carmelita will be included.
Thanks,
Bob
Growing up in San Carlos, I have to say that either Caremelita or Morse would be the best. I grew up on Morse and being by Burton Park, having the downtown nearby, was great. Carmelita has the big trees, beautiful houses, no sidewalks – feels like you’re in Woodside almost, yet you’re just a few blocks away from downtown. Long-time Carmelita residents will remember the “mailman’s path” which was a great shortcut for kids….
When was the “mailman’s path” closed? We have not been here when it was open but have seen it and always wondered what it was and why it was closed. Does anyone know?
