Thank you
I want to take this brief opportunity to thank all of you for your patronage to the San Carlos Blog. We are half way into our 6th year of providing the San Carlos community with an insider’s view into real estate and the community issues that matter most to San Carlans. None of this would be possible without your continued support.
The Business Side Of Things
First, let me say that I hate writing about the business side of things. I have always limited the business side of things to a small tab on the right hand side of the blog which laid out my transactions as a realtor. I do keep this tab for two primary reasons: (1) purely for business purposes so that members of the community can see that I regularly conduct business in San Carlos; and (2) to add validity to whatever San Carlos real estate topic I am writing about. The goal of this site has always been to give our readers an edge, or an insider’s view into what is happening from the front lines of San Carlos real estate. It would be difficult to accept anyone’s posting on such matters if they did not have the actual production to back it up.
As many of you know, San Carlos means a great deal to me and I do enjoy writing about all things San Carlos, especially the real estate side. However, the financial backing for this site comes directly from my business as a real estate agent living and working in San Carlos. 2012 will mark my best year so far as an agent. In 2012, I put together transactions totaling just over $50M, while representing a combination of 40 buyers and sellers. I feel extremely fortunate and am very humbled as the initiation for many of these transactions were direct referrals from readers of the San Carlos Blog. I sincerely thank you for your trust and will continue to strive to live up to the expectations that I know accompany your referrals.
Big Changes for 2013
As we move into 2013, the San Carlos Blog will showcase a new format that should enable a better user experience. I have been hard at work with my design team to come up with a new site that offers a cleaner look and is capable of greater functionality with multimedia components. Industry blogs, such as real estate blogs, change about every 18 months or so. The technology gets better and their optimized format changes. Additionally, with so many of our users on tablets, we needed to make a change that would better showcase the blog on those and similar type devices. The new format will do just that. I think you will agree that the new site, which is due to be released just after the first of the year, will enable a much better user experience.
One Final Note
The San Carlos Blog will be back on January 1st. I hope that each and everyone of you has a fantastic holiday and I want to wish you the very best for 2013.
