The City of San Carlos is now preparing to deal with the effects from the defeat of Measure U and a lingering budget crisis. KTVU Channel 2 highlighted the city’s budgetary issues last night on their newscast. It seems quite evident that the police and fire departments may be doing more than safeguarding the citizens of San Carlos. They will now have to do everything possible to safeguard themselves from the expected budgetary cutbacks. Every year there seems to be one or two issues which unfortunately divide the community. Past winners would include, synthetic turf, the parcel tax, PAMF and the end of intra-district transfers to Carlmont.
