This San Carlos Business Spotlight is long, long overdue.  Jersey Joe’s Hoagies and Cheesesteaks has been serving up out authentic east coast sandwiches in San Carlos since 2003.  The popularity of Jersey Joes has skyrocketed.  With 433 Yelp reviews, and a four star rating, this is still one of the best kept secrets in San Carlos. Go to Jersey Joe’s during any weekday lunch hour and there is a good chance the line will be out the door.

The man behind Jersey Joe’s is Don Godshall.  Originally from a small town north of Philadelphia, Don is a Bay Area transplant and enjoys giving other east coast transplants a taste of the best of back home.  Cheesesteaks, Pepper Steaks, Mushroom Steaks, The Works and a host of different hoagies are all made with top ingredients. The demand is evident and it is quite clear that Jersey Joe’s has a powerfully loyal following.

Many restaurants not located on or next to Laurel Street have had difficulty surviving in San Carlos.  Jersey Joe’s has bucked that trend and is thriving in San Carlos Plaza, which is located on El Camino, right against the Belmont border.  Jersey Joe’s has tables, booths and a variety of beers on tap.  If you have not given Jersey Joe’s a try, you are missing out.
